BOX SCORE Wayne, N.J. - Hunter College women's tennis got a win over non-conference opponent William Paterson University on Wednesday afternoon, defeating the Pioneers 7-2 to improve to 5-2 overall this season.
Elaine Zhang made her debut at no. 1 doubles and no.1 singles, getting wins in both. In doubles competition Zhang and partner
Adina Noble took down their opponents with a score of 8-2.
Ksenia Zevyakina and
Donise Rose got a win at the no. 2 court and Niso Khaydarova and
Tabitha Doris took down the Pioneers at no. 3 to give Hunter the sweep in doubles.
Zhang led the team again in singles competition, winning her match, 6-0 and 6-0. The Hawks' top four spots each earned victories to give the Purple and Gold the win with a final score of 7-2.
The squad returns to the court on October 6 when they host Baruch College.
