New York, N.Y. - Hunter College women's basketball defeated York College on Tuesday night with a score of 87-55 for the second CUNYAC win of the season.
The Hawks improved to 3-4 overall and are now 2-0 in conference play, while the Cardinals drop to 0-6.
The Purple and Gold forced 47 turnovers in the game, while recording just 14 of their own to get the victory.
Hunter took the first lead of the game, finishing the first quarter with a 12-point advantage. The Cardinals made it interesting in the second quarter when they closed the gap to just six points, but the Hawks went into halftime leading 41-33.
A York three-pointer in the third quarter helped them trail by just three points as the Hawks were forced to go on a run to maintain control of the game. Hunter found points from

Ashley Arias in the remaining minutes of the quarter to head into the fourth with a solid 11-point edge.
The Purple and Gold outscored the Cardinals 26-5 in the final ten minutes of the game to take it, 87-55.
Aponte led the team with 21 points, followed by Conway's 20 in the win. Budna posted a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Music added 12 points of her own.
The team returns to the court on Friday, December 7 when they host Baruch College at 5:30 p.m.
