New York, NY – The City University of New York Athletic Conference has released the seeds for the Men's Basketball Conference Championship Tournament earlier today to reveal Hunter as the #4 seed.
The top-six teams in the conference make the tournament with the top-two teams receiving a buy into the semi-finals. Lehman College topped the list with Baruch as the #2 and Staten Island claiming the #3 seed. The Hawk's 8-8 CUNYAC record matched John Jay but won the tiebreaker to force the Bloodhounds into the #5 seed. Brooklyn College was the final team to make the tournament with a 7-9 conference mark.
The Purple and Gold will play host to John Jay in the first round on Saturday, February 17
th at 1pm at the Sportsplex. The winner will advance to play a waiting top-seeded Lehman College in the semifinals on Tuesday, February 9
th at 6pm.
In the other first round game, Staten Island will host Brooklyn College with the winner to face Baruch on the 20
th. The championship game will be on Friday, February 23 at 8:30pm. CCNY will be the site of both the semifinals and finals.
