New York, NY – The men's tennis team capped a busy double-header today as they squared off against John Jay in the morning followed by a non-conference matchup in the afternoon against Farmingdale State. In impressive fashion, the Hawks swept both opponents, 9-0 to bolster their record to 6-0 overall and 4-0 CUNYAC.

The Hawks kicked off the day with a sweep in the doubles portion of the match.
Sean Kemp and Joel Cantilla teamed up at top flight doubles and won 8-3 over Oleh Mir and Sean Kim. At #2 doubles,
Nasser Ghaffar and teammate Florimond Le Goupil Maier won by the same score of 8-1 as
Omer Khalifa and
Filip Koritysskiy did at #3 singles to give the Hawks a 3-0 lead.
Ghaffer continued the winning ways with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Mir at top flight singles. Kemp, Le Goupil Maier, Cantila and Khalifa each defeated their opponents by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores at second through fifth singles respectively. Koritysskiy nearly blanked his opponent at #6 singles to complete the sweep behind a score of 6-0, 6-1.
Farmingdale Recap
Kemp and Cantila teamed up at top flight doubles and served their opponents an 8-2 loss while giving Hunter the lead. Ghaffar and Khalifa topped their opponents, 8-4 at #2 doubles while the duo of Le Goupil-Maier and Koritysskiy completed the sweep with an 8-5 victory at #3 doubles.
Ghaffer squared off against Steven Gaudio at top flight singles and continued the winning streak for Hunter with a 6-2, 6-3 win. Le Goupil-Maier made quick work of Bradley Maslak at #2 singles, winning 6-0, 6-1 with Kemp following suit at #3 singles, defeating his opponent, 6-1, 6-3.
In #3 singles action, Cantila defeated Daniel Kafka, 6-3, 6-2 while Koritysskiy handily won over Chris Molchan at #5 singles with an identical, 6-2, 6-2 score. Capping the day was a win at #6 singles by
Jose Agregado with a score of 6-0, 6-3 against Farmingdale's Cooper Everett.
The Hawks return to action on Saturday, April 14 when they take on Brooklyn College at 11am.
