New York, N.Y. - Hunter College women's volleyball improved to 3-0 in CUNYAC play with a three-set win over Baruch College on Thursday night, defeating the Bearcats with scores of 25-9, 29-27 and 25-13.
The Hawks hold onto a record of 9-2 overall, while the Bearcats drop to 5-8 this season.
The Purple and Gold started the match by handing the Bearcats a commanding 25-9 defeat in the first set.
The second set proved more difficult for the Hawks as Baruch jumped out to a 14-7 lead. Hunter began to claw their way back, outscoring the Bearcats 11-3 to pull ahead by one point. Neither team could hold onto the lead, tying the score at 25 and then again at 27.

Kendra Moore recorded a kill and
Haley Trunkett managed a service ace to give the Hawks the 29-27 victory.
Seven-straight points from Hunter, featuring three service aces from
Marlena Budna allowed the Hawks to take control of the third set, 16-8. The Hawks finished off the Bearcats by capitalizing on errors to win, 25-13 and get the sweep.
Hunter recorded a hitting percentage of .319 for their second-best mark of the season, while holding Baruch to a percentage of .065.
Taylor Haiduk led the Hawks with nine kills, as
Miranda Hogan posted 30 assists and Trunkett tallied a team-high 15 digs.
The team returns to the court on Saturday, September 22 when they travel to Rowan University for a tri-match.
