New York, N.Y. - Hunter College men's basketball hosted Connecticut College on Wednesday night in a non-conference contest, where they fell to the Camels, 88-77.
The Hawks are now 4-16 overall, while the Camels earned their seventh win of the season.
Hunter stayed close to Connecticut in the first half, falling behind by just six points with a score of 39-33. The Camels came out in the second by outscoring the Hawks, 14-4 in the first five minutes to go up by 17 points.
Hunter ended the drought with a three-pointer from
Danny Fusco, followed by another three from
Abraham Rosow.
Nolan Bruesehoff contributed a jumper to help the Hawks trail by just nine points with 13:25 on the clock. The Purple and Gold allowed the Camels to widen the lead once again but then went on a 17-2 run to cut the gap to just six points with four minutes to play.
The Camels hit their free throws in the remaining minutes to hold onto the advantage, eventually taking it 88-77.
Four players scored in double figures as
George Keener led the way with 28 points and nine rebounds. Fusco followed with 15 points, hitting six of ten shots from the floor.
Rosow and
Melvin Collins added ten points apiece in the loss.
The team returns to the court on Friday, February 1 when they travel to Lehman College.
