Bronx, N.Y. - Hunter College men's soccer dropped a conference game on Wednesday afternoon, falling to Lehman College by just one goal, 1-0.
The Hawks are now 2-6-1 overall and 1-1 in the CUNYAC. The Lightning improved to 8-3 and 3-1 in conference play.
Neither team would score in the first half, leaving it at a 0-0 stalemate at halftime. Lehman had seven shots to Hunter' four in the first 45 minutes.
The Hawks came close to a goal at the beginning of the second half when
Jesus Patino Muniz found
Blaise Enama off a corner kick. Enama recorded a header that went just wide of the goal.
At the 84:42 minute mark Lehman made the difference in the game, finding a goal to make the score 1-0. The Purple and Gold couldn't tie it up in the final six minutes, getting a loss to the Lightning.
Enama posted a team-high two shots, while Muniz,
Arman Zamanzadeh and
Moctar Zorome each tallied one shot. Goalkeeper
Antony Simos tallied five saves in the game.
The team returns to action on Saturday, October 5 when they host the College of Staten Island at 12 p.m.
