New York, N.Y. - Hunter College men's basketball finished up the 2018-19 regular season with a loss to John Jay on Wednesday night with a score of 69-50.
Hunter finished up the year with a 6-19 overall record, recording a 4-12 mark in CUNYAC.
Gio Gabbidon scored the first five points for the Hawks to give them the early lead, which they continued to hold until the Bloodhounds tied it up at 14-14 with 5:47 to play in the first half. John Jay pulled ahead but the Hawks only trailed by two points at the half.
John Jay started the second with a run to quickly go up by 19 in the first seven minutes. The Hawks closed the gap to 14 points with 10 minutes to play but John Jay stayed in control, closing out the game with a final score of 69-50.
Keener led the Purple and Gold with 12 points, followed by Gabbidon's 11.Â
The Hawks graduate no seniors this year as they prepare for the 2019-20 season.
