Staten Island, N.Y. - Hunter College men's tennis fell to the College of Staten Island on Saturday with a close score of 5-4.
The Hawks are now 3-3 overall this season and 3-1 in CUNYAC, while the Dolphins improved to 3-1 and 1-0 in the conference.
The Purple and Gold fell behind early in the match when they dropped all three doubles matches, but they began to fight back in singles play.
Nasser Ghaffar got a win at the No. 1 spot and
Omer Khalifa took the No. 2 court to give the Hawks a chance at the win.
Matthew Solovey and
Ryan Hwang pulled out wins for the Purple and Gold but it was not enough to overtake the Dolphins as they fell by just one point.
The Hawks return to action on Saturday when they host Farmingdale State College at 12 p.m.
