NEW YORK, N.Y. - The City University of New York (CUNY) and Hunter college have announced the cancellation of all intercollegiate sports competitions for the Fall 2020 semester.
"It is a sad day to announce postponement and delays in our athletic department," stated Director of Athletics Terry Wansart. "However, we will pivot to a hopeful opportunity by building a bridge to 2021. We will prepare for safer competitive experiences for all of our Hawks during the spring semester."
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Conference and the College have arrived at the conclusion that it would be unsafe and unwise to compete at this time. Hunter College and the CUNYAC are currently investigating the possibility of moving fall sports to the spring semester.
"I am confident our Hawks will be inspired by our tradition of excellence and 'find a way' to #SoarAbove while continuing their academic quests in the Fall," Wansart concluded.
