New York, NY – The City University of New York Athletic Conference has announced the seeds for the upcoming women's tennis championship earlier today. The Hunter Hawks check in at #2 in the field of five with play set to begin on Sunday, October 24.
The #2 Hawks posted a 7-2 overall record with a 4-1 mark in conference action, dropping their only league game to top seeded Baruch. The Bearcats were a perfect 5-0 in CUNYAC play and boast an unblemished 9-0 overall mark. John Jay took the #3 spot with a split 2-2 CUNYAC record while Brooklyn's 1-3 league mark puts them as the #4 team. Lehman and York round out the final two teams in the Tournament.
Play will start on Sunday, October 24 with the quarterfinals being hosted at the higher seeds. Both Baruch and Hunter will receive a first round bye and begin action on Tuesday, October 26. The championship match will be at the USTA National Tennis Center on Thursday, October 28. The winner will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament which will take place in May.
