The Hawks dominated in each weapon

New York, NY – On Friday evening, the women's fencing team played host to CCNY in their first home meet of the year. It was contested in a team format with each weapon declaring victory after the first team reaches 45 total touches. The Hawks came away victoriously, sweeping all three weapons.

The saber trio of Caitlin Charles, Katherine Sciotino and Christine Kuang won handily, 45-20. Charles had a +12 indicator while Sciotino was +8 and Kuang + 5.

Jean Suh, Youna Kim and Pia Martinez dominated in foil, besting the Beavers 45-16. Suh had the highest indicator of the evening with +13 while Marquez was also impressive with +11. Kim rounded it out with +5.

Although epee was closer, the Hawks were in the driver's seat the whole way, finishing off CCNY with a score of 45-33. Yi Qi Deng closed +5 while Viktoria Klapkova was +3. Sciotino had double duty and was + 4.

The Hawks are back in action on Sunday, January 16 when they compete at the John Turnbull Classic hosted by Army at West Point.
