Three Hawks Register Career-highs in Explosive Second Half Against Pratt

Brooklyn, N.Y.- The Hunter College women's basketball team dropped a 68-55 decision to Pratt on the road Wednesday evening.

Hunter (5-2, 0-1 CUNYAC) got off to a slow first half, scoring a combined 14 points in the first two quarters of play to trail Pratt (3-4). At 38-14 at the start of the second half, the Hawks showed out in the third period dropping 20 points to match the Cannoneers'. Despite a pair of threes by Morgan Gress and five points and a duo of steals from Katie Burke, the Purple and Gold still found itself trailing 52-34 as the third period came to a close.

The final quarter of play saw Hunter outscore Pratt, 21-15. A double-digit period from Erin Cosio led all scorers in the fourth but Hunter ultimately fell, 68-55.

Despite the loss, the Hawks explosive second half ensured career-highs were plentiful. Cosio closed out with a career-high of 13 points including a trio of threes for the freshman guard. Gress' three buckets from behind the arc in tandem with five rebounds also made for a career night, while Maya Thompson grabbed six rebounds with five being offensive for her own record.

Kimberly Lau had her third consecutive double-digit night as she registered 14 points, six rebounds, and four steals.

The Hawks continue their season on Friday (Dec. 10) as they host NYU in a non-conference battle at 5:00 p.m.
