Bronx, NY – The men's basketball team suffered a 112-101 loss this evening to Lehman College. In defeat, the Hawks slip to 8-9 overall and move to an even 4-4 in league action.
 
In all, there were 11 scorers that contributed to the teams' ninth consecutive 100+ point game. Cormac Reilly led the way with 24 points on 9-20 shooting from the field which included drilling six triples. 15 of Gene Propper's 18 points came from behind the arc while Casey Meyers added 16 of his own. Barrett Lowe registered a double-double with 10 points and as many rebounds in the loss.
 
The Hawks trailed for most of the first half but stayed within striking distance. Down 29-28 with 8:23 left to play, Lehman unleashed an 11-0 run to make it a 13 point differential. The two teams traded points over the final minutes which was capped by a Meyers fast break jumper to cut the deficit to nine. At the break, the Purple and Gold trailed 56-47.
 
The deficit proved to be too much to overcome. Lehman's lead grew to as much as 23 when they reached the 100 point plateau. Not going away easily, Meyers hit a jumper with 5:59 left to play to spark a 13-1 run to pull within nine points. With 1:26 showing on the clock, Ryan Lau was fouled and sent to the line where he connected on both of his attempts to make it an eight point affair. However, Lehman went 7-8 from the charity stripe over the final 1:38 to hold on to their lead and secure the victory.
 
The men's basketball team looks to get back to .500 on Friday, January 28 when they host John Jay at 7pm.
