New York, NY - The men's volleyball team won their third straight this afternoon after topping CUNYAC foe CCNY in straight sets (25-18 26-24 25-19). With the win, they move to 7-6 overall and 6-1 in league action.

David Lou, Ted Kim and Sherrod Cole led the three-headed attack as they each registered 13 kills apiece. The trio accounted for 39 of the team's 45 kills. Cooper Moran posted 38 digs in the win while defensively, Chris Scandole tallied 13 digs.

In the first, Hunter and CCNY were knotted at five apiece, but the Hawks slowly pulled away. They built upon an 11-9 lead and used a 14-9 run down the stretch to take the 1-0 lead. In the second, the Purple and Gold led the entire way, but CCNY put up a good fight. With the scoreboard favoring the Hawks 23-17, it was the Beavers that found their offensive stride. The hosts used a 7-1 run to knot the game at 24 all. However, back-to-back kills by Kim on sets from Moran put the Hawks on top 26-24 and went up 2-0.

An evenly played third wound up favoring CCNY in the latter stages of the set when they lead 17-16. However, eight straight Hunter points proved to be the difference maker as they had set point to the Beaver's 17. A Utpal Chand service error was the final point of the game as Hunter completed the clean sweep.

Up next, Hunter will take on the Cardinals of York College on Tuesday, March 22. First serve is scheduled for 7pm.
