Flushing, NY - The men's tennis team avenged an earlier season loss to the #2 seeded Bulldogs of Brooklyn College earlier today, beating them by a score of 5-2. With the win, the Hawks level out their record to 5-5 overall and will advance to play in the CUNYAC Championship on Thursday.
The Purple and Gold got off to a great start by sweeping the doubles portion of the match.

Jairo Baquero Molina emerged victorious after an 8-5 win at top flight doubles.

Kenneth Del Cid made quick work of their #2 doubles challengers, 8-1 while
Nicholas Caicedo and
Anil Singh blanked their opponents.
Popovic fell at top flight singles, being defeated by Ryan Sham 6-2, 6-3 while Pazmino suffered the same fate in #4 singles, falling 6-1, 6-0 against Christian Pena. With the score set at 3-2 in favor of Hunter, the squad needed just two more wins to secure the victory.
Baquero Molina stepped up at #2 singles with a win over Tre Laforce, 6-0, 6-2 with Caicedo putting the nail in the coffin with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Mujibur Shaad at #3 singles. The other two singles matches were left unfinished. As per CUNYAC post-season rules, onces a team reaches five points, the match ends.
Up next, the men's tennis team will face top seeded Baruch College for the CUNYAC Championship on Thursday, May 5 at the USTA National Tennis Center. First serve is at 3pm.
