Brooklyn, N.Y.- The Hunter College men's basketball team traveled to Brooklyn College for a conference matchup on Friday evening, defeating the Bulldogs, 75-71, to improve to .500 overall.
The Hawks (5-10, 2-3 CUNYAC) quickly jumped out to an 11-0 lead over Brooklyn (3-12, 1-4 CUNYAC) and would maintain that for the game's entirety. They outscored the Bulldogs 58-35 in the first half, shooting 50% from the field and 42.8% from three.
Despite a slower second half, the Hawks were ultimately too much for Brooklyn to overcome as they took home the win, 75-71.
Once again, Hunter's bench had a huge impact, scoring 27 points compared to the Bulldogs' 18. Hunter also out rebounded Brooklyn, 51-39, for 18 second chance points as opposed to the home team's four.
Luka Jakic logged another double-double as he was responsible for 10 of Hunter's rebounds while putting up 14 points.
Jeremy Montrose also added 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the win.
The Hawks return to the court on Jan. 18 as they host York College at 7:00 p.m.
