Hunter defeats Baruch in 5 sets to improve to 15-5

The Hunter College Volleyball team remained undefeated in CUNYAC play with a 5-set victory over Baruch College. The Hawks secured the victory with scores of 25-14, 20-25, 25-16, 22-25, and 15-9. They will take their three-game winning streak to Stockton on Saturday for a tri-match, facing off against Mt. St. Mary and Stockton.

Sophomore setter Bethany Tomaneng led the offense with 40 assists, contributed 12 digs, and registered 2 of the 10 aces for the Hawks. Tessa Winkleman continued her outstanding play with 17 kills and a 333 hitting percentage for the match. On the other side, Tionna Moss recorded 11 kills and 4 blocks, 2 solo and 2 assisted.

Simone McIntyre supported the win with 6 kills and 14 digs on the back end, while Erin Dugan led the Hawks with 20 digs from the libero spot. The Hawks dominated in the digging department with a 60-48 advantage and outhit the Bearcats 52-29 to secure the win.

With this victory, the Hawks maintain their position atop the standings and remain undefeated with two conference games still on the schedule.
