New York, N.Y.- The Hunter College men's soccer team loss a 3-2 decision to Baruch in the second round of CUNYAC postseason tournament.
The Hawks got out to a hot start in the fourth minute of play as
Alejandro Sanchez opened up scoring with an assist from
Bradley Espejo. At 21:49 the Bearcats responded with a goal, leveling the score 1-1. Despite six more shot attempts by Baruch for the remainder of the first half, the Hawks' keeper,
Musa Feseru, kept all attempts at bay as the two teams headed into the break at a 1-1 tie.
Coming off halftime, Baruch netted a goal just two minutes into play to take a 2-1 lead over Hunter. In the 67th minute, the Bearcats added another tally but Hunter continued to fight back. at 85:20
Alpha Barry scored unassisted, attempting to mount a comeback but with just five minutes left to go, Hunter was unable to overcome Baruch and the match ended 3-2.
Hunter managed six shots, all on target, with Espejo and Sanchez each logging a pair, and
Saleel Eldin and Barry adding one a piece. Feseru tallied five saves on the night, while Baruch's goal keeper stopped six. Overall Baruch logged 15 total shots with eight on goal.
The Hawks finish the season at 6-7-1 overall and 5-1-1 in conference play.
