BOX SCORE New York, N.Y.- In a one-sided affair, the Hunter College men's soccer team secured a 9-0 victory of York on Randall's Island on Wednesday afternoon. With this win, the Hawks improve to 3-5-1, including a strong 2-0-1 in conference play, while York falls to 0-6-1 (0-2 CUNYAC). Hunter was led by Conor Sullivan and Abdullah Al Maghrabi. who recorded two goals each. 

The match began with Hunter setting the tone early. In the 6th minute, Saleel Eldin opened the scoring for the Hawks with a goal off a short pass from Robin Sebastian. This was followed by a flurry of goals in quick succession, including strikes from Kristopher Lage, Bradley Espejo, and Al Maghrabi. The Hawks ended the first half with a commanding 5-0 lead heading into the break.

The second half was no different, with the Purple and Gold continuing their offensive onslaught. Notable contributions came from Sullivan, who netted two goals in the 62nd and 75th minutes, and Ez Malik, who scored from a free kick in the 84th minute.

Throughout the match, the Hawks showcased their dominance in possession and attacking play. Alejandro Sanchez and Espejo played pivotal roles in orchestrating the midfield, contributing both goals and assists.

While Hunter dominated the attack, their defense also shone. Goalkeeper Matthew Heimowitz was rarely tested but remained solid when called upon, keeping a clean sheet for the entire match.

The final score of 9-0 in favor of the Hawks reflected their complete control of the game. Despite their best efforts, York (NY) was unable to mount any significant offensive threats, as Hunter outshot its opponent 46 to 1 (26 on goal). 

The Hawks look to carry this momentum forward as they continue their season on Saturday Oct. 7 as they host Lehman in another CUNYAC match up. Kick-off is slated for 12:00 p.m.
