Brooklyn, NY - Traveling to Medgar Evers the Hunter College Women's Basketball team took home a 79-26 CUNYAC victory.  With the win Hunter improves to 11-10 overall and 6-4 in conference play.  The Hawks held the cougars to a season best 16% from the field, only giving up 10 field goals in the game.

The first 7 minutes of the game Hunter and Medgar went back and forth trading baskets and with 2 minutes to play Hunter held a slight 10-9 lead,  Freshman Alexa Charles made a layup that started a Hawks 11-0 run, 9 of the points came from Charles. Charles finished the game with 27 points, 8 rebounds, 10 steals, and 8 assists. team highs in all 4 categories. 

In the second and third quarter the Hawks shot 19-38 from the field, while holding the cougars to just 4 field goals over the 20 minute span.  Hunter held Medgar Evers to 16.9% shooting from the field and a season best 26 points, while out rebounding the cougars 64-36. 

Hunter had 4 players in double figures including Charles, Senior Kimberly Lau had 16 points and 5 assists, Sophomore Erin Cosio had 12 points, and Junior Katie Burke Chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds off the bench,

Hunter returns to the court when they travel to rival Baurch College on Thursday night in the annual "Battle for Lexington" tip off is scheduled for 5:30pm
