Hunter extends the winning streak to 7

New York, NY - The Hunter College Men's Volleyball team extended their winning streak to 7 games with a sweep of John Jay and Old Westbury on Saturday.  The Hawks took on the hosts John Jay first with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-20), and then beat Old Westbury 3-0 (25-7. 25-7. 25-6).

Hunter at John Jay:
Andrew Estiverne continued his strong play with a team high 10 kills in game 1 and hit 350 vs the Bloodhounds.  Ted Kim had 8 kills on 15 swings and a team high 7 digs, Cooper Moran continued to pace the offense with 32 assists and had a season high 6 kills with an impressive .455 hitting percentage.  David Lou had a team high .583 hitting percentage with 7 kills on 12 swings with no errors, and Matisse Lee-Maarek continued his impressive rookie campaign filling up the stat sheet with 6 kills, 2 aces, 3 blocks and 3 digs.  With the win over John Jay Hunter swept the season series with the CUNYAC opponent and improved to 7-0 in conference pla.

Hunter vs Old Wesbury:
Ted Kim and Andrew Estiverne led the offense with 8 kills each, Andrew hitting a season high .727 in the match with 8 kills on 11 swings.  David Lou had nearly a perfect match with 6 kills on 7 swings for a career best .857 hitting percentage.  Jimmy Chang had a very impressive 3rd set with 6 kills on 10 swings both season highs.  Cooper Moron had the Hawks offense buzzing with 36 assists, 4 aces and 3 kills.  The team hit an impressive .443 for the match, had 11 aces and had 39 more kills than Old Westbury.

Hunter will travel to CCNY on Tuesday night for a 7pm first serve.
