Brooklyn, NY - The Hawks split a double header with Brooklyn to clinch the #3 seed in the CUNYAC tournament. Brooklyn dropped game 1 3-2 before taking game 2 6-0, with the split, Hunter finishes with a 7-3 conference record and will take on Baruch in the first round of the CUNYAC tournament that starts on Thursday on Brooklyn College's campus field.
Game #1-
Sophia Perez started the scoring in the bottom of the 3rd when she singled and advanced to 3rd. Perez scored on an error by the center fielder off the bat of

Leah Dillon gave up three runs in the top of the 4th when the defense had 3 errors extending the inning, and allowing all three unearned runs. The Hawks would not go away in the bottom of the 6th they chipped into the lead when
Kierra Shaw came around to score after a leadoff single. Shaw was driven in with two outs when
Olivia Palumbo singled to left center field. Brooklyn locked down the next 4 outs closing out the win in game 1.

Game #2 -
Alyssa Curiale gave up 1 hit in a complete game shut out. She pitched out of trouble when the Bulldogs loaded the bases in the top of the 1st with no outs, but Curiale got a ground ball to shortstop to get the first out of the game. Curiale struck out the next two batters, and never allowed a runner past first the rest of the game. In the bottom of the 2nd
Nicole Bowe led off with a single, and came around to score on
Sophia Perez single to left field. In the bottom of the 4th Kayla Pilloti walked and came around to score when Brooklyn committed the first of three consecutive errors leading to 3 runs for Hunter. THe Hawks took a 4-0 lead, and added two more in the 6th before closing the door in the top of the 7th.
Nicole Bowe was 2-2 in game 2 with a walk and a run,
Sophia Perez was 2-3 with 2 rbi's, a walk and a run scored. Curiale struck out 12 in 7 innings allowing only 1 hit, with 3 walks.
