BOX SCORE 2 New York, N.Y.- The Hunter College women's volleyball team dropped a pair in a trimatch against NYU and Endicott on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks fall to 12-4 overall on the season with the two four set losses.
The Hawks started the day against no. 11 NYU, their first ranked opponent of the season. The Hawks dropped the first two sets, 15-25 and 18-25, but cme back for a 25-18 win in the third to stay in it. Ultimately, the Violets took the fourth set, 15-25 to secure the 3-1 victory. Despite the loss Hunter put up impressive individual performances..
Pearl Mensah led the Hawks with 5 kills and 2 blocks, showing great versatility on the court with
Bethany Tomaneng added  30 assists and 10 digs.
Izabella Williams was a key defensive player, racking up 12 digs while also contributing 11 kills.
Hunter faced a tough challenge from Endicott in the second match. Despite a valiant effort, the Hawks ultimately fell to the Gulls in a closely four set match (16-25, 19-25, 28-26, 16-25).  Lily Mattison was a standout player for Hunter, contributing 12 kills and two  blocks. Tessa Winkleman was another key contributor, registering 17 kills and 8 digs, providing a strong presence on both ends of the court.  Tomaneng again showcased her setting prowess with 38 assists, while also contributing 9 digs.
Hunter continues its season on Oct. 3 as they travel to Drew University before starting a slate of three consecutive conference matches.
