New York, N.Y.- The Hunter College women's basketball team fell on the road at John Jay on Friday evening, 80-61, to end a three game streak for the Hawks. Hunter dropped to .500 in conference play (4-4) and 8-11 overall with the loss, while the Bloodhounds sit at 6-1 CUNYAC and 12-6 overall.

Alexa Charles continued to put up dominate numbers, as the sophomore tallied 22 point and 15 rebounds, while grabbing six steals for the night. Nina Hennessey netted 14 points while dishing out a team-high four assists.
The Bloodhounds scored the first basket of the period but an unanswered three followed by a lay up from Charles put the two teams at an even 24-24 at 7:42. John Jay took back the lead until Hennessey knocked one down from three at 5:04 to match the Bloodhounds once again. After going down by as much as seven Hunter rallied to come within two after a good three from
Erin Cosio just under the two minute mark. The Bloodhounds managed to stall Hunter's offense for the remainder of the period, as the two teams entered halftime with John Jay up 44-38.
The Bloodhounds extended their lead to remain in control for the second half, as Hunter struggled to find its rhythm, ultimately falling 80-61.
Hunter looks to bounce back on Tuesday as the team hosts Brooklyn College at 5:00 p.m. in the Sportsplex.
