Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Hunter Edged Out at Lehman, 0-1

Bronx, N.Y.- The Hunter College's men's soccer team fell short in a hard-fought battle against Lehman College, suffering a 1-0 defeat. Despite a determined defensive effort, Hunter was unable to break through offensively.

Goalkeeper Matthew Heimowitz had a standout performance, recording eight saves to keep Hunter (3-8-1, 1-3 CUNYAC) in the match, including five in the second half. His quick reactions were vital in stopping several on-target attempts from Lehman's (4-6-1, 2-0-1 CUNYAC) forwards, but a late goal in the 87th minute sealed Hunter's fate.

Bradley Espejo was Hunter's most active offensive player, registering five shots, with three on target, forcing Lehman's keeper into action. Robin Sebastian also contributed with a shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the Hawks struggled to convert opportunities into goals.

Hunter's defense held strong for most of the match, with key contributions from Abdullah Al Maghrabi, who logged 79 minutes, and Conor Sullivan, who played the full 90 minutes in the backline.

Ultimately, the Hawks were unable to capitalize on their six total shots, as Lehman's lone goal in the 87th minute was the deciding factor.

The Hawks look to bounce back in their next conference match at Baruch on Oct. 13. Kick-off is slated for 6:30 p.m.
