BOX SCORE Bronxville, N.Y.- The Hunter College women's tennis team played its final match of the regular season at Sarah Lawrence on Wednesday evening, where the team took home a 7-0 nonconference win to improve to 5-4, while Sarah Lawrence dropped to 2-8.
In doubles play, Hunter asserted their dominance early, sweeping all three matches with ease. The top duo of Anna Chapko and Julia Aksamentova secured a 6-3 victory over Neomi Spellman and Josephine Jackson. Meanwhile, the pairings of Sara Novo and Sree Kolla at no. 2, and Sara Contreras and Samantha Moser at third doubles, dominated their matches 6-0 and 6-1, respectively.
Hunter's singles performances were equally impressive. Chapko, playing at the first spot, overcame a competitive second set to defeat Spellman 6-1, 7-6. Novo, at no. 2, displayed her skill with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Jackson, while Contreras won 6-1, 6-3 at no. 3.
In the fourth singles match, Aksamentova was nearly flawless, dropping just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Caroline He. Kolla and Hannah Butterworth were equally relentless at no. 5 and no. 6, both winning their matches without allowing more than one game to their opponents
