Hunter Falls to Farmingdale in Final Regular Season Match, 2-5

BOX SCORE Farmingdale, N.Y.-In a tough matchup, the Hunter College women's tennis team faced off against Farmingdale State, ultimately falling 2-5.

Hunter (5-5) struggled to find momentum in the doubles matches, dropping all three contests. At the #1 doubles position, Anna Chapko and Julia Aksamentova came the closest to clinching a victory, battling intensely before falling 7-5 to Farmingdale (10-4). The duo displayed resilience, but key points slipped away in the final stages.

Despite the struggles in doubles, Hunter showed promise in singles play. Julia Aksamentova was the standout for the Hawks, securing a victory in the #3 singles match with a gritty 8-7 win.  Aksamentova's ability to stay composed in key moments helped her close out the match in a tiebreak.

In the six singles spot, Olivia Salsgubaite provided another win for Hunter, defeating Heather McGullam 8-4. Salsgubaite played with confidence throughout, managing to stay aggressive and secure the victory.

Hunter closed out regular season play with this match and awaits seeding for the conference championship tournament starting Oct. 29 at John Jay.
