Brooklyn, N.Y.- The Hunter College women's volleyball team continued its undefeated City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) run with a dominant sweep over Medgar Evers (1-18, 0-6 CUNYAC) on the road. With set scores of 25-9, 25-11, and 25-6, Hunter improved to 19-7 on the season and remains a perfect 6-0 in conference play.
Kassidy Cruz Nuesi was a standout for Hunter, leading the team with 11 kills on 21 attempts, hitting an impressive .381. She also contributed three aces, amassing 15 points in total. Ana Duran delivered an efficient performance with a hitting percentage of .667, recording seven kills with just one error on nine attempts, adding a solid seven points to the team's tally.
Setter Bethany Tomaneng orchestrated the offense smoothly, dishing out 25 assists and adding a service ace, while maintaining perfect passing accuracy. On defense, Theano Liodakis was instrumental, leading the team with nine digs, and Kayla Treadwell also contributed six digs to limit Medgar Evers' scoring chances.
Liliana Khidr showcased her serving strength, notching 13 service aces. Her powerful serves helped Hunter maintain control throughout the match, particularly in the second and third sets, where they held Medgar Evers to a hitting percentage below zero. Simone McIntyre added six kills on 10 attempts as she hit for .400, while Natalie Polanco chipped in with four digs.
The Hawks return to the court on Oct. 31 as they host Brooklyn College in their annual Senior Night celebration. First-serve is slated for 6:00 p.m.
