BOX SCORE Dallas, Pa.- Hunter College's volleyball team wrapped up an incredible weekend at the Cougar Clash with a dominant 3-0 sweep over SUNY Oneonta, marking their third straight-set victory of the tournament. This victory brought the Hawks to a perfect 4-0 record for the weekend, showcasing their growing strength and cohesion. With the win, the Hawks moved to 12-4 overall, while the Red Dragons dropped to 7-9.
Simone McIntyre shined throughout the match, leading the offense with 10 kills and a hitting percentage of .389, while also contributing 7 digs and 2 aces. Her all-around performance earned her a spot on the All-Tournament Team, where she was joined by teammates
Bethany Tomaneng and
Izabella Williams. Tomaneng orchestrated the attack with 29 assists, adding 3 kills and 3 digs, while Williams chipped in with 6 kills and 10 digs.
Amina Moummad also delivered an impactful performance for the Hawks, leading the team in kills with 11 on a .409 hitting percentage.
Lily Mattison added 4 kills and made her presence felt at the net with 2 blocks.
Hunter's balanced offense and consistent defense were on full display, with the team combining for a .273 hitting percentage and out-digging their opponents 46 to 37. The Hawks were relentless, holding SUNY Oneonta to under 18 points in all three sets.
The Hawks resume conference play on Oct. 11 as they host York (NY) in the Sportsplex at 6 p.m. where the squad will look to continue its undefeated league record.
