FLUSHING, N.Y.- The No. 1 Hunter College women's tennis team began its postseason run with a 6-0 win over No. 4 Lehman College on Tuesday afternoon in the semifinals of the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) tournament.
The undefeated Hawks took the doubles point after a forfeit by Lehman at No. 3, and a 6-0 win at No. 1, where Jade Schoenfeld and Isabella Tchij dominated, keeping the Lightening from scoring at all in three of the games.Â
Sara Novo and Sree Kolla teamed up at No. 2 doubles, also taking a 6-0 victory.
At No. 1 singles, Tchij continued to impress with a 6-1, 6-1 win. Schoenfeld, grabbed a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles, securing the clinch after Lehman forfeited No. 6 singles.
The Hawks return to the court on Thursday for the CUNYAC Finals, where the squad will seek to repeat as conference champions.Â
