New York, N.Y.- Alexa Charles of the Hunter College women's basketball team has added to her list of honors, earning both City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Player of the Week and Met Baskstbal Writers Association Division II/III Women's Player of the Week, for the second straight week.
After grabbing both titles last week,
Alexa Charles kept her foot on the gas. The junior guard delivered a dominant week for Hunter, highlighted by a triple-double and two double-doubles, averaging 28.3 points, 12.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and an impressive 7.3 steals per game over three contests.
She shot 49.3% (34-69) from the field and converted 68% (17-25) of her free throws while also contributing 1.3 blocks per game.
Charles showcased her all-around impact with a standout performance against Sarah Lawrence, where she recorded 35 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 steals. She followed that with a 25-point, 14-rebound effort against Medgar Evers and another 25-point, 12-rebound outing against John Jay, adding six total steals and four blocks in that game.
Her ability to fill the stat sheet on both ends of the floor has been crucial for the Hawks, as they remain undefeated in conference play.
Hunter returns to the court today for a 5:00 p.m. tip-off at Brooklyn College.
