BOX SCORE NEW YORK— The Hunter College men's basketball team faced a tough challenge on the road Wednesday night, falling to conference-leading Baruch College 99-69 at ARC Arena.
Hunter (5-17, 3-8 CUNYAC) struggled early as Baruch (13-9, 10-1 CUNYAC) opened the game with a relentless offensive attack. The Hawks found themselves down 51-27 at halftime after shooting just 23.5 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes.
The second half saw Hunter put together a stronger offensive showing, shooting 43.6 percent from the field, but Baruch maintained its lead with efficient shooting of its own. The Hawks' efforts were led by
Casey Meyers, who knocked down four three-pointers en route to a team-high 14 points.
Jack Meyers and Jayden Jarret each contributed 10 points, with Jarret adding eight rebounds to lead Hunter's effort on the glass.
Felipe Carter provided a spark off the bench, tallying 15 points on 4-of-11 shooting while going 6-of-7 from the free-throw line. Donovon Cola added nine points, including three triples, while
Enzo Caceres-Roussel chipped in eight points and six assists.
The Hawks return to the court on Feb. 12 as they host CCNY for a 7:00 p.m. confernece game.
