FLUSHING, N.Y.- The Hunter College men's tennis team delivered a dominant performance in conference play, sweeping Lehman, 7-0, on Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, Hunter improved to 2-0 in the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) and 2-3 overall, while Lehman fell to 1-1 in conference action and 1-2 overall.
Hunter set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles matches. The duo of Nicholas Cooper and Alexander Hagiu led the way at No. 1 with a 6-0 victory, while Odin Dibra and Savio Francis secured a 6-1 win at No. 2. Jason Parmar and Kinley Wangchuk rounded out doubles play with a 6-1 victory at No. 3.
The Hawks carried that momentum into singles, winning all six flights in straight sets. Cooper earned a decisive win at No. 1 singles, followed by Hagiu at No. 2 and Dibra at No. 3, each posting commanding victories. Francis continued the sweep at No. 4, while Parmar added a point at No. 5. Nicholas Douglas capped off the match with a straight-set win at No. 6.
Hunter continues its season on April 4 at Sarah Lawrence College. First serve is set for 12 pm.
