Hunter Women’s Tennis Announces 2026 Fall Schedule

NEW YORK- Coming off a championship season and its second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, the Hunter College women's tennis team will return to the court in 2026 looking to continue its recent success under seventh-year head coach Alex Trezos.

The Hawks put together a 12-1 overall regular-season record last fall while going a perfect 5-0 in City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) play. Hunter captured both the CUNYAC Regular Season Championship and CUNYAC Tournament title, earning the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season.

Conference play will have a new look in 2026 with Pratt Institute joining the CUNYAC as an affiliate member for women's tennis.

Hunter opens the season with three consecutive road matches, beginning Wednesday, Sept. 9, at St. Joseph's Long Island. The Hawks then travel to Farmingdale State on Sept. 12 and Purchase on Sept. 14.

The Hawks make their home debut Wednesday, Sept. 16, against Manhattanville at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing followed by another home match against Sarah Lawrence on Sept. 19. Hunter begins conference play on the road at Lehman on Sept. 23.

October begins with a CUNYAC road matchup at York on Oct. 1 before the Purple and Gold travels to Albertus Magnus on Oct. 3. The Hawks return home to host Brooklyn on Oct. 7 and then travel to face Baruch on Oct. 10. 

Hunter closes out the regular season with three home matches.Starting with the final conference match against John Jay on Oct. 14. The Hawks host Bard on Oct. 17 before welcoming the University of Mount Saint Vincent on Oct. 21 for Senior Day.

Postseason play begins with the CUNYAC semifinals on Tuesday, Oct. 27, followed by the CUNYAC Championship on Thursday, Oct. 29. Both rounds of the conference tournament will be held at the USTA National Tennis Center.
