Dan Cinelli has been named the Head Coach of the Hunter College Men’s Soccer team in August of 2022.
Cinelli joins Hunter Athletics with over 30 years of soccer experience, most recently head coaching the Bronx Community College broncos. His previous playing and coaching accolades are extensive and quite impressive, dating back to his youth soccer clubs. He was a member of Team USA F.I.F.A Junior World Cup 1998, the 2001 Madrid Cup Champions, and the New York State ODP (Olympic Development Program) from 1998-2002.
Director of Athletics Terry Wansart had this to say “Coach Cinelli will bring much soccer pedigree to the Hunter Hawks, from youth soccer, to high school coaching, to his own playing days and much more. His quality and broad soccer network will enhance recruitment and his knowledge of the game will increase the Hawks game preparation. His passion for the sport of soccer and coaching is contagious and will be to Hunter's advantage, not just on the field but as graduating student -athletes”.
Coach Cinelli’s collegiate career began playing division 1 soccer at Fairleigh Dickinson University from 2003-2004, helping the team earn a NEC Conference Champs title. Cinelli went on to finish his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Marketing at Marist College. As of now, he is attending Ohio University to complete their specialized master's degree in Soccer Coaching Education. “I would like to thank the Athletic Department staff for choosing me to lead the Men’s Soccer program. The Hunter Hawks are proud to welcome Dan Cinelli’s coaching expertise for the 2022-23 Men’s Soccer Season. Cinelli’s coaching background include: Training Director of P.A.S.S (Professional Academy of Simple Soccer) from 2009-Present, Director of Youth Soccer for Flushing Futbol Academy 2014- Present, and he was named Nassau County Coach of the year 2019 Conference A1.
