Alex Trezos is in his seventh season as head coach of the Hunter College men’s tennis program. He was elevated to the position in August 2018 after serving one year as an assistant. Since taking over, Trezos has guided the Hawks to consistent postseason appearances and helped develop numerous CUNYAC All-Stars.
In 2025, Trezos led Hunter to a third-place finish in the CUNYAC regular season standings and a return to the playoffs for the second straight year. The Hawks secured key conference wins over York, Lehman, and John Jay to earn the No. 3 seed, and advanced to the semifinals after a competitive match against second-seeded Brooklyn. The team showed particular strength in doubles play, highlighted by a win at No. 2 doubles in the semifinal and consistent pairings throughout the season. Three players earned All-Star recognition: Alexander H agiu (First Team), and Anil Singh and Raymond Leu (Second Team).
During his tenure, Trezos has mentored multiple CUNYAC award winners, including two First Team All-Stars in 2019 and four honorees as an assistant coach during the team’s run to the 2018 CUNYAC Championship Final.
In addition to his role at Hunter, Trezos serves as a Tennis Pro at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, where he directs the ACES youth program and provides instruction to players of all levels. He was a member of the player operations staff at the 2017 U.S. Open and is a certified Professional Tennis Registry instructor.
Prior to coaching, Trezos spent over a decade in financial services at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. He is a graduate of St. John’s University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance in 1992.
