Brianna Palermo

Brianna Palermo joined the Hunter College softball coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2024. A former collegiate athlete with extensive playing and coaching experience, Palermo brings a strong passion for player development and a versatile skill set to the program.

Palermo played NCAA Division III softball at SUNY Purchase, where she excelled as a shortstop and utility player, having played all nine positions throughout her career. She served as a team captain during her time with the Panthers and earned several accolades, including Purchase College Athletics Female Player of the Year (2022), Softball MVP (2021-2022, 2022-2023), and the Scholar-Athlete Award (2023).

Beyond her collegiate experience, Palermo has played softball for 18 years and has coached for two years at the club level, working with 14U and 16U teams. Most recently, she served as an assistant coach and trainer at Challenge U Softball in Wyckoff, NJ, where she specialized in hitting, infield, pitching, and catching. Her coaching responsibilities included calling and tracking pitches, coaching first and third base, creating practice plans, and managing game lineups. Palermo is also a CUDIT Certified Hitting Coach.

In addition to her athletic background, Palermo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from SUNY Purchase. She was actively involved on campus as a student member of the Intercollegiate Athletic Board and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
