Megan McKenna begins her third season as assistant softball coach after helping guide the Hawks to an 11-1 CUNYAC record last year.
McKenna worked with the outfielders and served as the team’s hitting coach. In her first season, the Hawks tallied 101 more runs and 88 more hits than in 2014. In addition, her hitting tutelage propelled the team to the top of several CUNYAC categories including setting new team single season records. These records in 2015 included: team Batting Average .362; doubles 69; on base percentage .448; slugging percentage .483; least strikeouts 116.
Additionally, in the same 2015 season, her guidance was responsible for several team single season records including: team batting average .362; team on base percentage 448, team slugging percentage .483, runs scored 273, hits 352, doubles 69, RBI's 253, total bases 470, walks 146.
McKenna had an accomplished softball and basketball career at Hunter College, including being a part of the team that won the CUNYAC Softball Championship as a freshman.Â
