Kristen Markoe is in her second season as an Assistant Coach of the Hunter College Women's Basketball team.
Kristen joined the staff last year after playing 4 years on the women’s basketball team herself. During Kristen’s basketball career she was a 4-year starter and 3-year captain for the Hawks. Kristen holds individual titles including 2nd all-time in most career points for women's basketball with 1,751 points and first player in the history of women's basketball at Hunter College to have over 1,000 rebounds (1,046 rebounds). Kristen was named CUNYAC Rookie of the Year, 2x CUNYAC first team, CUNYAC Player of the Year, 2x ECAC first team, ECAC Player of the Year and Honorable Mention Academic All-American.
She graduated from Hunter College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
She is currently in her final semester of the physical therapy program at Hunter College and will receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in May 2017.
She is heavily involved in the team’s conditioning program; focusing on injury prevention through teaching proper body mechanics of warm-up techniques and strength/agility/stamina workouts to improve performance with the athletes. Kristen is also involved in player evaluation, individual skills work, opponent scouting, player development, practice planning and game-plan preparation.
