Michael Kokoszka is in his fifth season as assistant coach of the women’s swimming and diving team at Hunter College.
Since coming to Hunter, he has assisted co-head coaches Andrew Netti and Scott Bintner in all facets of swim training and student-athlete development. Most recently, Kokoszka played an instrumental role in the team's 2015-2016 success that saw the Hawks garner a 10-3 dual meet record, capture the CUNYAC championship and break numerous school records along the way.
Prior to his arrival at Hunter, Kokoszka served as assistant coach for two years at the Cross Island YMCA club team where he was a former YMCA National Qualifier. During his time there, the New York City native oversaw all aspects of the swim team and helped guide swimmers to YMCA State relay records and YMCA National time standards.
Kokoszka graduated in 2009 from Columbia University with a B.S. in civil engineering and was a member of the NCAA Division I Lightweight Rowing team. He also competed in triathlon, becoming an Age Group All American, finishing as the fourth overall amateur racer at the NYC Triathlon in 2008 and as the Ivy League Champion at the same race in 2009.
