Alex Trezos is entering his second year as the head coach of both the men's and women's tennis programs. He was elevated to his current position in August of 2018 by Director of Athletics, Recreation and Intramurals
Terry Wansart after spending one year as the assistant coach.
Trezos brought the Hawks back to the top of the conference in 2019. His squad posted an impressive 12-1 overall record with an undefeated 6-0 mark in conference play. The 12 wins is the most since the 2012-13 season and. They earned the #1 seed in the conference tournament and took home the title, the program's 22nd overall and first since 2012. They earned an automaic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament but were unable to play due to the COVID-19 situation. Trezos was named the CUNYAC Coach of the Year and had one athlete on each of the First and Second All-Star teams. Additionally, Maryna Bohdanovska was named the CUNYAC Tournament MVP.
During the 2018 women's season, he guided the team to a 9-4, 4-2 CUNYAC record and finished the season as the CUNYAC runner up. Under his direction, he had the CUNYAC Rookie of the Year in Luisa Sujan and First Team CUNYAC All-Star Maria Kogarova.
Trezos currently works as a Tennis Pro at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Corona, N.Y., providing skilled instruction for players of all levels. He manages the center's ACES program, which provides children with fun on-the-court tennis experience, while educating them on the history of the sport.

He was a member of the player operations staff during the 2017 U.S. Open, getting an up-close look at how some of the greatest players and coaches in the world prepared mentally and physically for the tournament.

Trezos made the transition to full-time tennis coaching after spending over 10 years in financial services at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.

He is a certified professional tennis registry instructor and graduated from St. John's University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance in 1992.
