Bill Kaso

Bill Kaso brings a wealth of experience and a deep connection to Hunter College as the new Student Athletics Program Coordinator, named in June 2024. Before stepping into this role, Kaso served as a Financial Aid Advisor at Hunter, where he guided students through financial aid processes, applying state and federal guidelines to determine eligibility for tuition assistance and other academic expenses. He also led in-person and virtual FAFSA workshops to help students and parents navigate the application process.

Prior to that, Kaso was a Special Projects Assistant and Financial Aid Assistant, working closely with the Dean of Student Affairs on initiatives for the Community Scholars programs. In this capacity, he coordinated student events and trips while engaging students to connect them with research resources both on campus and throughout the city.

Kaso holds a Master of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from Hunter College and a Bachelor of Arts in African & African American Studies with a minor in Sociology from Lehman College. His academic work focused on the intersection of digital technology, algorithms, and racial inequality, culminating in his thesis. His commitment to community engagement is evident in his extensive volunteer work, which organizing outreach events for homeless shelters, supporting youth cultural programs, in the African American and Caribbean communities in the five boroughs.

Kaso's diverse experience and dedication to education, equity, and social impact make him a valuable and compassionate leader within the Hunter community.
