New York, NY – Senior forward
Tyler Masterson (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) scored the final two goals to help lead the #4 Red Hawks of Montclair State University to a 3-0 win over Hunter College in a non-conference men's soccer match at Icahn Stadium on Randalls Island.
Junior defender
William Griffin (Bloomfield, NJ/St. Peters Prep) got the Red Hawks on the board, scoring on a header off a corner kick from freshman forward
Rodrigo Santiago (Wharton, NJ/Morris Hills) five and half minutes into the game.
Masterson scored his first goal at the 41st minute and then scored the only goal of the second half on a pass from senior
Brian Miles (Newtown, CT/Newtown) at 70:56.
Senior
Noah Fessler (Metuchen, NJ/Metuchen) made ten saves in net for the Hawks, while senior keeper
Nick Mele (Delran, NJ/Delran) made two saves while earning his eighth shutout of the season.
The Hawks return to action on Wednesday when they host CCNY for the regular season finale 1:00 p.m. at Icahn Stadium. The Hawks will also be vying for the program's first regular season championship since 1999.
