Monica Calungcagin (Valley Cottage, NY/Nyack) and sophomore
Elizabeth Feldman (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) all won key singles match to give the Hawks a 5-4 victory over Moarivian College in a non-conference women's tennis match Saturday afternoon palyed on Rossevelt Island.
Kim and
Feldman continued their doubles onslaught with an 8-2 win, while the team of
Calungcagin and sophomore
Anna Vagner (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) took second doubles 9-8 after a 7-4 tiebreaker set. Kim won her match at first singles in three sets, 7-6, 5-7, 6-2 to improve to 4-0 on the season.
Calungcagin came out victorious at second singles, 6-4, 6-1, while
Feldman improved to 4-0 on the year with a 6-4, 6-3 win at third singles. Moravian was victorious at fourth, fifth and sixth singles, but the losses suffered during doubles would prove to be the deciding factor as the Hawks earn their 4-2 on the year.
Hunter will now return to action on Tuesday, September 23 when they host Baruch College for a 4:00 p.m. match at the USTA Tennis Center in Flushing, NY.
