Hawks Come Up Short To #11 NYU

New York, NY – Junior guard Shay Branch El-Vielot (Cambria Heights, NY/Canarsie) and sophomore guard Megan McKenna (Rockaway, NY/Midwood) scored game highs of 16 points each, but their numbers and a late Hawk rally wouldn't enough to overcome the #11 New York University Violets who pick up a 67-59 victory Monday night at the Coles Center.

Junior forward Andrea Buckham (Queens, NY/Flushing) was the third Hawk to finish in double figures, scoring 14 points, while McKenna also led the team with seven rebounds and five assists.

Senior forward Chelsea Seabron (West Bloomfield, MI/West Bloomfield) ledthe Violets with 11 points and seven rebounds in 15 minutes of action off the bench.

The Hawks return to action on Wednesday, heading to Jamaica, NY for a conference game with York College at 6:00 p.m.
