Brooklyn, NY – Sophomore guard
Megan McKenna (Rockaway, NY/Midwood) scored a game high 19 points, but the shorthanded Hawks couldn't hold off the Medgar Evers Cougars who pickup a 60-44 victory at home on Wednesday in a CUNY Athletic Conference women's basketball game.
At the end of a low scoring first half, the Hawks trailed 23-15. In second half, the Cougars jumped out to a 13 point lead and eventually ran up a 19 point lead before taking the 16 point victory.
Sophomore guard
Michelle Gatti (Brooklyn, NY/Christ the King) was the only other Hawk to finish in double figures, scoring ten points, while sophomore forward
Nancy Olisma (Brooklyn, NY/St. Saviour) pulled down a career high 22 rebounds.
The Cougars had three finish in double-digits with Shauntelle Nelson scoring 14 points and pulling down 14 boards, while Tabrese Harris had a team high 15 points.
The Hawks return home on Friday for the first game of a men's and women's doubleheader against the Bearcats of Baruch College for their second meeting of the season.
