Three Hawks Score in Shutout at Brooklyn

Brooklyn, NY – Three Hawks found the back of the net as the record a shutout victory in the regular season finale over Brooklyn College in a CUNY Athletic Conference men's soccer match held at Aviator Sports Center.

Sophomore forward Anthony Intrabartolo (Glendale, NY/Christ the King) put the Hawks on the board in the first, putting a pass from sophomore Mauro Ortiz (Brooklyn, NY/EBC Bushwick) into the net at 32:00 for his third goal of the season. Then a little under a minute and a half later, sophomore forward Saif Zureikat (Amman/Jordan, Cardozo) put away his first goal of the season unassisted.

Then 59 minutes into the second half, senior defender Andreas Kalpaxis fed a ball to sophomore forward Mario Rojas who scored his third goal of the season to put the hawks up 3-0.

Freshmen Alexandre Ilic (Miami, FL/Miami Killian Senior High) and Murtaza Munir (Staten Island, NY/Benjamin Banneker Academy) shared the shutout with Ilic playing 68 minutes and making six saves, while Munir played the final 22 minutes with one save. Junior keeper Azad Kafarov made nine saves, while facing 22 shots in net for the Bridges.

The Hawks close out the regular season with a 6-10-1 overall record and went 6-3 in the CUNYAC for third place, while Brooklyn falls to 4-10-2 and 2-5-2 in the conference.
