Middletown, CT – Senior forward
Andrea Buckham (Queens, NY/Flushing) scored a game high 17 points, but her efforts weren't enough as the Hawks fall to Wesleyan University in a non-conference women's basketball Saturday afternoon in Middletown, Connecticut.
After opening the game up with a 12-6 run, the Hawks quickly fell behind as Wesleyan used a 17-0 run to take the lead and never look back. Junior guard
Megan McKenna (Rockaway, NY/Midwood) was the only other Hawk to finish in double digits, scoring 13 points and also had six steals. Senior center
Juanita Whyms (Far Rockaway, NY/Stella Maris) pulled down a game high 12 rebounds, but was denied the double-double by only scoring six points.
Hunter falls to 5-3 on the year, while Wesleyan improves to 4-3. Hunter will be back in action on December 30, when they travel to Newark, NJ to face the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers-Newark at 1:00 p.m.
