West Point, NY - On Saturday, March 12 the women's tennis team took on the Black Knights of West Point in their non-traditional season opener. The Hawks struggled against a seasoned Army team as Epraksi Yushkova was the only member of the team to stay close to her competitor as they fell 3-0 in doubles and 6-0 in singles.

Yushkova took on Patty Vollener at first singles and fell 6-4 in the first set and 6-3 in the second set. The Hawks just didn't have enough to compete with the Black Knights as Stefanie Smith, Jessica Yi and Ericka Jaramillo were the only ones to win a set.

In doubles, it was the same scenario as Yi and Jaramillo went down 8-1 in the third position. Yushkova and Smith teammed up at first doubles while Jane Selegean and Jennifer Kraham played second and both dropped the match 8-0.

The Hawks are back in action on Wednesday, March 23 when they host Concordia College at the USTA National Tennis Center. The match is scheduled for a 3:30pm start.
